Ugandan music legend Jose Chameleone has extended invitations to Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan and Burundian President Évariste Ndayishimiye to attend his long-awaited Chameleone Unlimited concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala.
The singer revealed the invitations during a TikTok Live conversation with Barista Timo on Sunday night, October 4, 2026, stating that neither leader had confirmed their attendance yet.

“Recently people saw me with President Samia, while some other [artists] are trying to take pictures with their MPs,” Chameleone said during the live session. “Now I have invited her alongside the President of Burundi to my Lugogo concert. They are yet to confirm”.
How the Invitations Came About
The invitations follow Chameleone’s recent encounters with both East African leaders. The singer, whose real name is Joseph Mayanja, met President Hassan during the Kizimkazi Festival in Zanzibar in August 2026, where he attended alongside other musicians and later thanked the Tanzanian leader for the reception he received . President Hassan attended the festival’s closing ceremony on August 14 .

The Burundian connection runs deeper. President Ndayishimiye hosted Chameleone at the Ntare Rushatsi Palace in December 2025, where the singer presented plans to invest in Burundi’s creative industry, including a proposal to establish a modern music studio to support young talent .
A Concert That Has Been Years in the Making
The Chameleone Unlimited concert has faced multiple scheduling changes. Chameleone had originally booked Lugogo Cricket Oval for December 4, 2026, but surrendered that date and venue booking in May to allow King Saha’s Kings Love Entertainment to use it. At the time, Chameleone said his concert remained a priority and would return on a new date .
His latest comments indicate that Lugogo Cricket Oval remains part of his plans, although he did not disclose the revised December date during the TikTok conversation . The concert marks a significant moment for Chameleone, who has a long history of performing at the venue, including his memorable Tubonge concert where he urged fellow artists to fill the ground without relying on international acts .
