King Saha Missing Just Days to His Kololo concert.

Ugandan singer King Saha has been released after spending several hours in police detention following dramatic security operation at his residence in Kyanja.

The singer, whose real name is Mansur Ssemanda, was reportedly picked up on Tuesday, August 11, by armed security personnel.

Initial reports described the incident as an abduction because his whereabouts were temporarily unknown, while authorities had not immediately issued a public explanation.

What really happened?

According to reports, armed personnel arrived at Saha’s Kyanja residence and took him away. Videos circulating online showed security personnel at the scene, while members of his team were reportedly injured during the operation.

He was subsequently held at Jinja Road Police Station and was released later that night. After his release, he went directly to Mulago Hospital to check on members of his team who had been injured during the incident.

“The moment they released me, I could not head straight home before checking their situation,” Saha said, according to reports.

He added that the situation was “very sad” and indicated that he would speak about the rest of the incident later.

The incident has attracted even more attention because King Saha is scheduled to hold his Tondeka Ekololo concert at Kololo Airstrip on Friday, August 14, 2026.

Despite the arrest, preparations for the concert have continued. Opposition leader and musician Bobi Wine has publicly endorsed the show, encouraging fans to attend, while Daudi Kabanda also urged fans to turn up for the August 14th event. Read more here.
