British Wrestler Benjamin Satterley, Known as Pac, Dies Aged 40 Just One Day After Final Match

British professional wrestler Benjamin Satterley, known to fans worldwide as Pac in All Elite Wrestling and Neville during his WWE tenure, has died at the age of 40, the promotion confirmed on Sunday, September 27, 2026. The news broke less than 24 hours after Satterley competed at AEW’s All Out pay-per-view event at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, on Saturday night, where he challenged Andrade El Idolo for the AEW National Championship in what would prove to be his final match . No cause of death has been disclosed.

A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for organizations across the globe, including WWE, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre in Mexico before signing with AEW in 2019 . He was celebrated for his innovative high-flying offense and incredible in-ring ability, earning the nickname “The Man That Gravity Forgot” for his signature Red Arrow—a 450-degree splash performed from the top rope . During his WWE run from 2012 to 2018 as Adrian Neville and later simply Neville, he became a standout in the NXT brand, winning the NXT Championship and holding it for 286 days, before moving to the main roster as a two-time Cruiserweight Champion and the self-proclaimed “King of the Cruiserweights” .Tributes poured in from across the wrestling world within hours of the announcement. AEW President Tony Khan described Satterley as having “defined excellence” as a husband, friend, and in his wrestling knowledge, skill, and “unprecedented athleticism” . AEW World Champion Will Ospreay, a fellow Briton, wrote:

“The greatest export from our country. Also the greatest human being. Honoured to have shared the ring with you so many times. You truly are such a hero to myself and many others. Forever our BASTARD”

WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman called it a “truly terrible loss” and described Satterley as a “tremendous talent and even finer human being”. Rhea Ripley wrote: “What a tragic day. What an extremely talented person. Speechless… RIP PAC”. Saraya, who worked alongside Satterley in both WWE and AEW, said: “For everyone that knew Ben (Pac) would tell you what an incredible human he was. Truly one of the best. This is heartbreaking”.

Satterley’s death comes just weeks after WWE executive William Regal publicly praised him on September 15, calling him one of his favorite people in wrestling and “the best Wrestler to come out of England since the 80’s” . In AEW, Satterley was the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Champion—a title later renamed the International Championship—and a two-time AEW World Trios Champion, first as part of the Death Triangle faction with Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix, and later with the Death Riders alongside Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta . His final appearance saw him open All Out against Andrade, lose via roll-up after his Brutalizer submission was countered, and later return during the main event to assist Death Riders stablemate Jon Moxley.
